VT-715-60

Saylor-Beall VT-715-60 is a 1.5 HP two-stage splash-lubricated piston compressor on a 60-gallon vertical ASME tank, 230V single-phase. Output is 5.8 CFM at 175 PSI, with the cast-iron 715 pump running at just 400 RPM. The very low pump RPM is Saylor-Beall’s signature: pumps in this family are designed for 50,000-plus hour pump life and rated for intermittent operation at a maximum 70 percent duty cycle (per the Saylor-Beall 700-series manual) in industrial maintenance settings. Construction includes a rugged cast-iron cylinder head, threaded plugs for valve access without head removal, and replaceable needle bearings on the connecting rods to simplify field service. The 715 also exists in pressure-lubricated (VT-PL-715-60) form for severe duty and in three-phase configurations for shop-floor installs. Net weight is approximately 508 lbs. Best fit is an industrial maintenance shop where the air demand is small but constant – process plants, dairy and food packaging, or laboratory air. The compressor is too small for typical automotive shop work but the build quality is closer to a 50-year industrial machine than a 5-year hobbyist tool. 100 percent machined, assembled, and tested in St. Johns, Michigan.
