SS5L5

Ingersoll Rand SS5L5 is a 5 HP single-stage cast-iron piston compressor on a 60-gallon vertical ASME tank, 230V single-phase. It puts out 18.1 CFM at 90 PSI with a 135 PSI maximum operating pressure – the larger sibling of the SS3L3 in the same SS-series family. Construction is durable cast-iron cylinders, heads, and frame, with stainless-steel finger valves, splash lubrication, and an oversized belt wheel for cooler operation. Pump is rated for over 5,000 hours of continuous duty. Single-stage means a hard ceiling at 135 PSI: you trade the higher pressure of a two-stage compressor for lower cost, simpler maintenance, and lighter weight. Best fit is a one-to-two-bay home or commercial shop that runs occasional impact tools, sanders, and finish-carpentry pneumatics but does not need to feed plasma cutters or sustained HVLP.
